Epic EHR Integration

Deliver directory data into Epic for reference and referrals.

Drive improvements for Social Determinants of Health by integrating resource directory data directly in Epic EHR.

Support outpatient nurses, case workers, and clinical staff to search and refer community services from the EHR they already use.

How it works.

Enterprise data publishing prepares directory data for Epic — then delivers it the way Epic expects.

  1. Standardize and clean source directory data

Our Enterprise Data Publishing pipeline prepares resource directory data so critical fields survive the handoff into clinical workflows.

  2. Format for Epic’s schema

Data is shaped into Epic’s proprietary format — not left as a generic export clinicians cannot use.

  3. Deliver via SFTP (and Nebula)

Files upload to an SFTP server for Epic to pick up. Data delivered this way is also available to share via Epic’s Nebula cloud, on a cadence Epic allows.

Features

A deep Epic connection is rare — this one is built for outpatient referral reality.

  • Epic-formatted delivery

Directory data is cleaned and formatted to meet Epic’s requirements for usable clinical workflows.

  • SFTP handoff

Production delivery through Epic’s SFTP pickup path — the integration pattern hospitals already operate.

  • Nebula-ready sharing

Data uploaded this way can also be shared via Epic’s Nebula cloud when that distribution path is in play.

  • Publishing pipeline upstream

Leverages Connect 211 enterprise publishing so Epic does not inherit raw, inconsistent source-system exports.

  • Outpatient referral focus

Designed so clinical staff can search and refer community services in the moments care coordination actually happens.

  • Works both directions

Useful for health systems pulling local I&R data — and for 211s offering a serious Epic integration path to healthcare partners.

Who it’s for.

When community referrals need to live inside Epic — not in a parallel binder or browser tab.

  • Healthcare systems on Epic

Medical systems that need to pull resource directory data from a local 211 or I&R into Epic for outpatient referrals and care coordination.

  • 211s & Information & Referral

I&R agencies seeking a real integration option with local healthcare systems running Epic EHR.

  • Care coordination programs

Teams accountable for Social Determinants of Health referrals who need directory data where clinicians already work.
